Message from the Chief Medical Director
Dr. Kolawole Ogundipe
I welcome you to Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado –Ekiti where we offer quality Health Care services to the People.
The Hospital started at the erstwhile location of the State Specialist Hospital in April 2008. The staff, assets and liabilities of the hospital were inherited. While the inherited staff provided an immediate workforce for the institution.
The institution also took up the administration of Schools of Nursing and Midwifery in 2010, while the College of Medicine of the Ekiti State University got more attention, leading to recruitment of staff, most of which have corresponding roles to play in EKSUTH.
While noting that the challenges of building a Teaching Hospital from scratch in a resource – constrained environment is daunting, it is a great deal that the hospital can now boast of over 70 Consultants.
As the current Chief Medical Director, (CMD), I became a key player in the administration, of the hospital when I became the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee in the October 2012.
It was on this note that I, in August 2013, when as the Ag CMD, I made the promise to create a stimulating environment that values and rewards teamwork, continuing education and professional development, and to make all stakeholders actualize their potential to full capacity in an efficient, user friendly and courteous Teaching Hospital.
The vision since them has been “to reposition EKSUTH as the preferred tertiary health center of excellence of world standard”.
